My mom was about 7-8 at the time.

Lynn is cool...there are some really spooky areas but 90% of Lynn is pretty nice. I went to HS there...they keep trying to gentrify but there's a lot stacked against them. I'll take Salem any day. Cooler, nicer, more going on and even at its worst, a lot less grungy.

Re: Lynn, Lynn, the City of Sin?

Thanks for the nice comment. I didn't know this, not being from the area. I figured it had to be something to do with the importance of the rail system to Lynn. I was just impressed with the nice things that Lynn has to offer, I don't think it deserves all the negativity. That's cool about your mom being on the last run. Wish I coulda seen the old line.

Re: Lynn, Lynn, the City of Sin?

I'm pretty sure that the 'rails' depict what was known as the "narrow gauge rail line". It ran (I think) from Revere/Boston to Lynn. You can see the remnants of the narrow rail line just as you go over the General Edwards Bridge from Lynn to Revere...on the left are some brick condos...there is a sort of pathway...that is where the rail ran. Narrow Gauge refers to what it was...rails were set close together. When she was a kid, my granddad took my mom on the last run of the line.
